December 5 Newsletter

Important News Book Week and Holiday Boutique will continue through Wednesday, December 7. Open Gates: Please read over the enclosed list of due dates, sign, and return. French Presentation: The French Presentation on Francophone countries is fast approaching.  It will be held next Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 8:15-9:00 AM. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in the information about what your daughter is wearing or cooking. If not, please send it ASAP so we can prepare their oral presentation.  This is a francophone studies project, but it builds on their earlier French years where they learned about food and clothing, so this is an opportunity for them to show off what they know. In addition, students need to bring in a plain, solid colored t-shirt this week if they have not already done so. Each student has a copy of  their presentation, as well as an audio file to help them study pronunciation, on their google drive accounts.  They will need to memorize their parts for the presentation, so if they can study them at home, it would be very helpful. On the morning of the performance, the girls can go straight to their classroom when they arrive. If you are bringing food, please bring it ready to serve.  Heated, cut, etc.  We will have a bank of tables in the back of the auditorium where each girl’s country will be displayed, and you can place the food in front of each country board.  I also will have outlets available if you bring the dish in a crockpot to keep it warm.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot heat anything at the school. It must arrive pre-heated.   Girls who are bringing food will wear the t-shirt they made along with a skirt or pants of their choosing. If your daughter is dressing up, she should arrive in her costume, then she can change into her t-shirt and pants or skirt after the performance. After the performance, you are all invited to circulate around the room, taste the different dishes the girls prepared, and look at their projects.
