The fourth grade Girl Scout troop took a field trip Monday afternoon to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Courthouse as part of earning their Independence badge! The girls got to see the building, have a chance a make a brief oral argument in the West Courtroom, and meet with three U.S. Fifth Circuit judges—Judge Jacques L. Wiener Jr., W. Eugene Davis, and Edith Brown Clement. The girls had LOTS of questions for the judges, including how did they become a judge, did they always want to be a judge, what was the hardest case they ever decided, did they ever fall asleep on the bench, what happens if a lawyer lies to them, and many, many more.
